View Options
Use the dropdowns to select languages and versions. You can view two languages or versions at the same time (useful for translations).
Document Title
The content of the title field will usually be displayed in the user's web browser window title and used for bookmarking. It should contain a short description of the page content, much like a heading.
Document Body
The "Body" input field is where the actual document content is managed.
Depening on the system configuration, it can either contain
- a simple text field using the powerful Text_Wiki syntax described on Editing Help or
- a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor
The default configuration uses the Wiki syntax because its editor is compatible with all web browsers and operating systems.
Template Dropdown
Some document types have an additional template dropdown, which lets you select a template for the current page. If you click on the icon next to the dropdown, you can edit the template.
Action Buttons
The buttons at the bottom have the following meanings:
- Reset: Undoes all changes made to the Title and Body fields since the page was last saved.
- Close: Closes the window while loosing all changes made.
- Save: Saves all fields, creating a new version of the current document, keeping all older versions. This allows to recover from mistakes made while editing. You can preview your changes on the "Preview" page.
- Save and Publish: Same as Save, but publishes your changes instantly.
